Important notes

  • Official schedule avoids weekends, many Mondays, and days right after holidays where possible.
  • SRD is batched separately and may land on different days for different people.
  • Confirm last-minute changes on sassa.gov.za or 0800 60 10 11.

How grant-type batches usually work

Social grants are staggered over about three days each month. Older Persons are paid first, Disability next, then Children's and most remaining grant types. Your day depends on your grant type, match the schedule above to your grant type.

Weekends, public holidays, and shifts

SASSA designs the annual table to avoid many weekend and holiday clashes. If an unexpected change is announced, trust the official notice over this page. Plan debit orders with a buffer after payday.

SRD (R370) vs other grants

SRD is temporary and paid in batches, often later than Older Persons or Disability. Approval does not always mean money on the first day of a batch window. See our SRD grant guide and SRD declined / appeal guide.

If your payment is late

Check the schedule and holidays first. If funds are still missing a few days after your grant day, call 0800 60 10 11 or visit an office with your ID. Do not share your PIN with callers claiming to be from SASSA. Full checklist: SASSA payment late guide.

Changing your payment method

Bank detail changes normally require an in-person visit with ID and bank proof. Step-by-step: Change bank details at SASSA.
